The way we pulled off the surprise party was that everyone went home and came back approximately an hour later or so. We set the alarm off in the building so she would have to check out what made the alarm go off. Zenda's family was in on it to make sure she came. They were at the party too.
To make the matter look more convincing without our planning there was a large accident scene on the street corner by the center. In the past one elderly man ran his car into our center. Zenda thought it was possible that it had happened again when she saw the police cars all over.
As she and Tony, her husband, drove through the parking lot Zenda was wondering why there were so many cars? Then she figured it must have been a large amount of families coming to help the accident victims. Walking toward the building she spotted the Tripp family car, and wondered why they would park here at that time of day. Then she turned to Tony and asked him what was really going on. The gig was up!
Thanks to everyone showing we had about seventy people show for the night surprise party.
The Noteable Angels, our choir, sang Consider Yourself One of Us early in the day.
Fred Edwards was able to get some buddies together for live music at the party. What a treat!
The frosting on the cake was turning everyone's mouth black. So I took advantage of the moment. Lovely wouldn't you say, just lovely.
Happy Birthday Zenda
