Mother's Day 2012

For our celebration we had a weird eating pattern.  A number was drawn out of a basket.  Then the number was matched up with the number by the food.  You could only get the food that matched that number, and weren't able to progress onto the other food on the menu until the food that you matched with your number was completely eaten.

Weight Watchers should bring that onto their plan.  It takes a lot longer to eat that way.

Lydie Murray was able to share this idea from previously doing it in her ward for Relief Society.

Roberta Draper and her daughter Debbie made the cute edible center piece flowers.  Roberta Draper, Marily Metzger, and myself, (Eileen) sang Grandmother's Apron, Lorene Armstrong accompanied us.

Valerie won the spring hat contest.

Itchalzinco Tlaloc Dancers

May 2, 2012 the Itchalzinco Tlaloc Dancers donated their talent for our center on our Nacho Party day.  Dancers were Carolina Rangel, Javier J. Cruz, Alma Rangel, Carolina Rangel, Sandra Rangel, and Moise's Yamil.  There were amazing.  Isn't it great to learn from different backgrounds and talents.  If you ever get the chance to watch them, don't pass it up, it is worthy of your time.

Railroad Open House Mayor Came

Under new club management the Railroad has been revamped.  So it was decided to have a re-opening to allow the center to see the progress made on the trains.  We thank Mayor Mike Winder for coming and showing his support.

Club members who also donated their time and items for the room are Lee and Neva Fels, Jim Hoeppner, Steve and Edna Miller, Edward Shepard and Jean Daniels.  The railroad is remarkable.  It was a big day for the club.  Newspapers came and reported the story.  We want to mention a special thanks to THE TRAIN SHOPPE for their donations
Neva and Lee Fels, Mayor Mike Winder and City Council Member Steve Buhler.

Shep won the drawing for the quilt.

Neva made a cute cake to go with the celebration.

Fels Family Presentations

Olympics Volunteer by Neva
After listening to the presentation that Neva gave about being a volunteer at the Olympics I was amazed at the stamina of that it took to keep up.

Her presentation was a top notch job.  The great thing about it was the time her family joining in with her and Lee.  These are memories that will never fade.

Thank you Neva for your very informative presentation.
1957- 1962 Navy Spotlight by Lee
Lee had photos that are astonishing.  People were locked into what he was saying and looking at his photos of the Navy in action.

We are lucky to have two very great presentations from people are our own center.

Thank you Fels family.
