First Day of Spring Buffet

The Loose Cannons entertained us for the First Day of Spring Buffet.  They were wild at times and great entertainers.

Indoor Golfing

The winter blues can settle into people.  We decided to beat them out of our systems by playing indoor golf throughout the building.

Eileen was assisted with David Walker, Ray Watkins, and Roy Young.  Because of them it was a successful and fun time.

K9 Visits BookClub 2013

Cindy Waters is the head of the bookclub.  Cindy likes to go the extra mile when she does things.  The book the club read was A Dogs Purpose.  To go along with the theme of the book Cindy invited the K9's to show off the police dogs.

Dark Days At The Lucky Strike Mine Play

January 30, 2013  Our seniors performed Dark Days At The Lucky Strike Mine.  A melodrama in Western setting written by Sandra W. Bray.

I do believe the actors this year out did the other times we have performed this play.  Hats off the them for a super job.

Still Got Talent

We had our tryouts for Still Got Talent January 8, 2013.  The Still Got Talent program is a Tenth East Senior Center Program.

MC was Eileen Pryor

David Walker - Storyteller

Ron Taylor - Harmonica Player

Marge Hammond - Sing/Dancer

At the Still Got Talent Event, Marge Hammond won second place.  She sang and tap danced to Singing In The Rain.  It was an exciting moment for her when she found out she had come in second place.  Marge won ballet tickets, dinner at Chuck-A-Rama, and $25.00.

Ron, David and Marge are very talented.  I think it is a good idea to make it possible for more people to see the talent seniors have.  Congrats!

Family Roots Presentation

April 17, 2013 Margaret and Dan Williams presented a great presentation on Family Roots.  They talked about what can happen to strengthen yourself and the posterity behind you by knowing who you belong to.  They showed some of their travels and ways they found some family history.

Then they gave out a daily journal with questions to answer for a year to get your journal written.  They are in-laws to Eileen Pryor.

Thank you for all the hours you worked on and in presenting this motivating and interesting talk.

A Touch Of Beauty

Valerie Wells made this elegant flower arrangement for our center.  As people enter the building they are welcomed with this touch of class.  Thank you Valerie.
