Veteran's Day 2014

We had a beautiful program on Veteran's Day.  Tears filled eyes as hearts were touched.  Mayor Ron Bigelow gave a short talk which was heartfelt. We are very glad that he came to the center to celebrate with us. He is a veteran himself and has an understanding of the sacrifices the service men (people) have given for us to live in freedom.
The VFW Post 7442 came in uniform and presented the American flag.  Following the flag presentation the taps were played.  Thanks to Bob Tripp in the picture with the Mayor read a poem.  The reflection in his voice carried the message very well.
Two short videos were played of Kate Smith singing God Bless American and I Am A Veteran.  To complete the program Bill Barton's group "Friends of the Fiddlers" did an excellent patriotic program.
The man standing in front is Dale Waudby.  Dale was the veteran with a birthday that day.  The band and audience sang Happy Birthday to him.
