The David and Grace Harman Family Home was the boyhood home of Pete Harman, founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken, which he donated to the City for use as a senior recreation center. The house was originally built in 1918 and remodeled in 1989 before Harman turned it over to the City.

Over the years that I have worked at this center, I count myself blessed to be able to be employed here. Our patrons are a big plus in my life. They show me what is good about life. They allow me to share every talent I have. Our patrons are eager to learn. I want to thank all of those to whom I am blessed to rub elbows with at the Harman Senior Recreation Center.
